When the Activated Carbon Filter is no longer effectively removing contaminants, water can still pass through. Try to keep track of roughly how many litres have been purified through your product.

Other than keeping track of usage, you may find that water from your LifeSaver product is less palatable after time. This is a sign that you should replace or at least remove your Activated Carbon Filter.
