Best Five Hikes

Najlepsze pięć wędrówek

There’s nothing more rewarding than getting back from a great outdoor adventure hike – all that fresh air, amazing views and the satisfying rest that comes after a long period of exerting yourself! Hiking is a brilliant way to experience the world. So below, we’ve chosen five hikes we think sound truly awesome. Remember, always take a good outdoor water filter bottle with you. You’ll encounter an outdoor water supply on most hikes, so a good trekking water bottle that can purify dirty water, like the LifeSaver Liberty, is a worthwhile piece of kit to have on your journey.

King’s Canyon Rim Walk, Watarrka National Park, Australia

This iconic hike, across impressive orange hued sandstone, is known as the spellbinding Rim Walk and its mind blowing. Take a challenging walk to the top (500 steps straight up) to appreciate outstanding 360degree views. Then walk through Priscilla’s Crack, made famous by the classic Australian movie Priscilla Queen of the Desert and, finally, make your way down to the lush, picturesque Garden of Eden where you can cross a secured bridge over the sacred watering hole. In the sweltering Australian heat, it can be a tough one but it’s worth it!

The Narrows, Zion National Park, USA

The Narrows is a gorge, that the Virgin River runs through, in the narrowest section of the Zion Canyon. With walls a thousand feet tall and the river sometimes just twenty to thirty feet wide, it’s one of the most popular areas in Zion National Park. This hike is accessible to all skill levels, via the one mile, paved Riverside Walk from the Temple of Sinawava. However, if you’re looking for something a little more exhilarating and are prepared to get wet, you can continue to follow the trail all the way by wading upstream through the river.

The Dolomites, Italy

There are countless trails through the Dolomites and, whilst we’d be hard pressed to pick a favourite, Puez-Odie Altopiano comes highly recommended. Covering some of the highest peaks in the mountain range, it’s tough and requires a lot of climbing but that equals great views. In the Dolomites, you’re spoilt by a variety of amazing landscapes from sky skimming peaks to picture perfect alpine meadows, lush and shady evergreen woods and crystal clear, glacial lakes. The perfect choice for every hiker.

Kungsleden (The King’s Trail), Sweden

One of the most famous hiking trails in the world, this classic tour through the most spectacular, constantly changing, mountain terrain is exceptional. To take it all on, you’ll need to be in good physical condition and have some experience in hiking. However, the trail can be divided into four parts and has multiple entry levels, so there are options. The northern section in Lapland is the most famous part, starting at Abisko, whilst the hike up Sweden’s highest mountain, Kebnekaise, at 2105m, is the toughest part.

Mountains of the Moon, Rwenzori Range, Uganda

The highest range in Africa at over 16,000 feet, including the country’s third highest summit, Margherita. With inspiring views, this national park is an enchanting mix; tropical forests full of fig trees and bamboo, chattering blue monkeys and regal elephants, grottos of glittering blue icicles and, of course, stretches of icy glaciers. Named the Mountains of the Moon, because when light beams down across the convex glaciers, they glow like mini crescents. No technical climbing skills are required but you’ll need to be good with heights and have a lot of stamina.
