A most excellent product, great quality

A most excellent product, great quality.

Although when in use in a civilian city, I would prefer to buy the Lifesaver Pouch in the colour Black, and DDPM ( Desert ) is not to a diplomatic colour to wear, for Force Protection security reasons.

I originally bought a Black version, but these rare black Lifesaver pouches do not seem to be available now.

Please Lifesaver, could you please reproduce the Black Cordura versions of the Lifesaver Bottle Pouch again please.

Thank you.

Seems well designed and sturdy

I hope I never have to use it! However, a few years ago I had my water supply cut off for 5 days and my supplier (Anglian Water) were absolutely useless and just denied responsibility and provided zero support. I'm not giving it 5* because it doesn't have a scavenging hose and you have to fill the bottle manually. That means a 5 mile cycle or hike for me to the nearest river. However I've also bought the Liberty, which does have a scavenging hose, so I hope I've covered both bases : long life and versatility.

Thank you for leaving a great review. Sounds like you have all your bases well covered, and are ready for anything - even Anglian Water!!

Great water filtering bottle however rather expensive

This is a great piece of kit for those who like to be prepared. For hikers or those wild camping this is something that should be kept in your backpack when out and about in case of emergencies. If, for whatever reason, you need to drink water that you have found in nature rather than carried with you, from a stream or pond for example, you need something like this. The filter removes viruses, bacteria, parasites, chemicals, microplastics and heavy metals leaving you with safe drinking water. It is really easy to use. Simply fill the bottle from the located water source and then drink as normal through the straw in the cap and the filters inside to the rest

In an emergency this little filter could save your life. Highly recommended for any adventurer. My only criticism is the cost. This is £174.99 (at the time of writing) which seems very expensive. Yes this could save your life however other options are available for a good chunk less in price than this. Due to the lack of value for money I have reduced my rating by one star.

What one thing would you take on a desert island...

LifeSaver Bottle Portable Water Filter and Purifier:

I've been aware of this product for about 10 years now but it may be much older.

You don't necessarily have to drink straight out of the bottle. You can pour the filtered contents in to something else if you like. Therefore using the 'Lifesaver' as a through-filter.

If you are in a desperate situation or can't get water in to the bottle easily, you can use the sponge at the bottom of the bottle to soak up water and then squeeze the contents in to the bottle. This may not be appealing, but I did say if you are desperate. So for example, if there is a shallow puddle on the side of the road that you can't get the bottle in to and no other water source nearby. You can dip the sponge in to the puddle and then squeeze the contents in to the bottle before following the pressurisation steps.

Because this is made out of plastic, you will have to be careful with it if using it out on the field. The last thing you would want is for it to crack.

I think the long term use-case of this product makes it worth while if you spend a lot of time out doors and are maybe traveling light. You will get a lot of use out of it before you need to buy replacement filters.

rugged and capable

This is a great Prepper item to have at my disposal. I've taken it apart to see how it works and I believe the claims are accurate and I am confident it will be effective at making scavenged water safe to drink. In addition to this I think its built to a very good standard ensuring its outdoor and rugged capabilities. The only negative aspect per se its its sheer size and weight.

high end water filter bottle

This is a very well-engineered filter and purifier bottle. The operation is simple: just unscrew the bottom, fill it with water, screw it back on, and use the inbuilt manual pump. The main filter is supposed to be good for 6000 L and the activated carbon filter for 250 L. A replacement carbon filter is about £8, and the main filter is about £90, so if you are planning long-term use, you will need to factor these costs in. The price at the time of review is £174.99, which is at the higher end but I believe it's resonable given the robust construction and simple design with minimum moving parts to get the job done.

Exceptionally well-made, but too large and heavy for me

I'm a water filtration geek! Not even embarrassed about it. I've been interested in it since childhood, this interest has been spurred by a love of exotic fish, exotic plants and exotic travel! So when I was offered the opportunity to test this, I was particularly interested.

The notion of a water bottle, capable making any water potable, is like magic. It's easy to filter out the bigger stuff, the particulates, but removing the tiny stuff though, the nematodes, the protozoan cysts, the bacteria, is a lot more challenging. Then there is tinier stuff still, and the various chemicals and heavy metals, that just cannot be filtered out using traditional means.

In my home, I have the luxury of space, and can accommodate various systems. I have a three stage mechanical filter, followed by a reverse osmosis filter, and that is for water that is already safe to drink.. This is for the benefit of my plants though, not me. I just drink the tap stuff!

When travelling, lugging such a filtration system about is not practical. I have examined various options, including the famous "LifeStraw", but I was intrigued by this more elaborate option. Unfortunately, upon receipt I quickly came to the conclusion that this was next to useless for me.

First the positives. This is a seriously well-made product, super tough and durable, very substantial. The filtering mechanism works well, it's very easy to fill, the pumping action feels sturdy and positive. I cannot fault the build quality of this. 6000l is LOADS, this will last one, two, or even a family, a LONG time, like months to years. The filter elements are replaceable, which is great. I see others criticising the price, but in my opinion, those who need such a device will happily pay £174.99, and a LOT more in fact. I have no doubt that this will do as it claims, I understand the technology involved, and I have confidence in this device. I particularly like the fact that it filters a certain amount, then stops. I mean it will physically stop filtering when it is incapable of putting out safe drinking water, the membrane will clog entirely and will not pass any fluid, this offers great peace of mind as you're never left wondering about the efficacy.

Excellent life saving and weight saving kit.

Good enough to get you through any hike with no water reserves.... thats a fact.

Ok you know the drill, you can use this on big lakes, you can use it on streams... even slow moving streams.. you can use it on all those areas you see on the hike/bike but you can not use it on small stagnated pools, canals, etc... even the best filter would not take that on. These water filters are for the water that you would think about drinking in an emergency but would not because the chances are you will get sick, but with this bad boy,,,, you wont, you just wont.

You can drink from those places you are uncertain about and you will be fine, and there will always be those places available so as long as you have this you will be ok.

This is a good one, a really good one. I like it and it has become a permenent part of my hiking go bag. The adventure bag... this is is, the one bit of kit I would NOT wander without.

Coincidence Vs Fate
Fantastic Quality But THAT Price Tag!

Beautifully made, light water purifier for on the go or if you're out for a long run or walk where you cannot carry a lot of water with you to keep you going.

For the average person I'm not sure this is really a value-for-money purchase. Although the purifier does last for 6000l and I doubt anyone would ever get that far there is another added cost of the charcoal carts, which are pricier than most quality water bottles themselves, so again, I'm not sure who this is really aimed at. Maybe those going on an expedition to South America or something. I dunno. Although this is a great bottle, I doubt I will ever be using it to it's full potential. Excellent quality, can't state that enough, but way overpriced in my opinion.

Expert Water Filtration

This 750ml water filtration is the essential item for outdoor pursuits in far off regions where drinkable water is in short supply.

The bottle is made of hard plastic with a removable top to suck the filtered water out.

To filer any water the process is simple enough in that the you unscrew the base and remove the pump and then fill it with the dirty water from a stream/pond or worse.

There is a sponge divider in the base of the pump that can also be used for soaking up water from a puddle should you need to.

Once the dirty water is in the filter you simply release the pump and start pumping which pressures the liquid through the filter removing 99% of all viruses and contaminants from it.

When I tried this on dirty puddle water the water once filtered through was crystal clear. I then tasted the water and it was drinkable although with a more earthy taste to it.

If you need to survive out in the wild this is definitely an essential item if you start to get low on water.

Overall its expensive and replacement filters will also be expensive although will keep going filtering water for some time depending on how often you use it and so I feel the technology put into this item justifies the high price.

Very good but expensive!

I already have a Katadyn water filter which was half the price of this one. Katadyn are one of the more well known and trusted producers of this type of product, and I personally feel reassured that I am using a water filter from one of the top brands.

This LifeSaver bottle is certainly well made and designed giving a good feeling that you have bought a good product.
Very robust but also a wee bit heavy for it's size. Presumably due to the heavy duty filter and quality materials.

Trying it from a fast flowing river and using my Katadyn at the same time, the water from both was totally clear with no floaty bits or sediment. Impressive!

It just needs that 'well known brand = confidence' in a product like this especially at this price.

Still performs well enough though.

Gota Review them All
Excellent product caution it is expensive side of its market

I have rated this 5 stars both out of my perception and also out of looking at wider independent reviews.

This is a more expensive item within its market so I would always encourage review of wide ranges of sources to validate many of the claims as they are serious claims. Don't want to need your life saved by something thats not been validated to do what it says it will.

I can't validate those claims myself;, though independent professional reviews do support them

I would have preferred the packaging to be better given the price if you planned to give as a gift it might make you question that.

Its a very sturdy high quality piece of kit though. The size is significantly so do bear that in mind;, however that is what the intent is. Photo next to a 32inch screen to show size comparison.

Very much a Life Saver

This ingenious water purification bottle is clearly designed for serious outdoor and emergency use, with the ability to remove 99.99% of viruses, bacteria, and cysts while purifying up to 6,000 liters of water. It has been military-approved and rigorously tested, which adds confidence in its reliability—though I can’t personally verify the safety claims.

Design & Functionality
Smart bottom-fill design prevents filtered water from being contaminated, unlike traditional top-fill bottles.

Hand-pumped filtration mechanism ensures you’re not reliant on batteries or external energy sources.

Multi-source filtration allows use with water from lakes, rivers, puddles, and even questionable taps.

Filters & Longevity
Replaceable cartridge filter lasts up to 5,000 liters but costs £100 per replacement, making it a pricey investment.

Charcoal filters (available in packs of four for £31.49) last 250 liters each and help improve taste and reduce heavy metals.

Final Thoughts
LifeSaver's definitely an expensive product, but in certain situations, it could truly be a lifesaver. Perfect for traveling in areas with unreliable water sources or extreme wild camping, where safe drinking water can’t be guaranteed. If you need a survival-grade water filter, this appears to be one of the best-tested options available.

For the serious user!

Let's face it this is probably overkill for a lot of use, but if i were going on an adventure with my life on the line from poor quality water sources i'd pack this all day long. It's well made, easy to use and so far as i can tell very effective.

Recommended and happy, safe travels!

Expensive

Pretty light for what it does, and worked well on limited testing, absolutely way out of most people's price ranges though.

Brilliant.

My son is a RM and who's exact words were "kit like this can be invaluable".

Needless to say he has claimed it.
He used it while on his morning run at a stream where my dogs rinse their feet on their way back from their walk, and which with the recent rain is pretty brown and all churned up.
Before you question my parenting, I did try it myself!
I found it incredibly easy to use, prime, and carry.
It removes visible impurities and invisible ones such as micro plastics, chemicals, bacteria, and viruses, leaving the drinking water clean clear and tasting great.

After a resounding endorsement of 'hoofing' from him, together with my own experience, I would say the product is excellent and works perfectly.

LifeSaver's ideal for hikers, trail runners, preppers, and international travel destinations. It will be ideal when in compromised destinations where the water system has been contaminated.

The filters can be replaced and the bottle needs little maintenance, it feels robust, and we are delighted with its performance.

Given all this I think the price is fair, and I hope you find our experiences useful.

Used It on a Hike – Feels Like Actual Magic

Finally gave this a go on a proper hike and I'm still blown away. Scooped water straight from a stream, gave it a few pumps, and out came clean, clear, great-tasting water. No chemicals, no weird taste - just pure hydration like something out of sci-fi.

The failsafe tech gives peace of mind, and knowing it removes viruses, bacteria, and cysts makes it perfect for wild camping or emergencies. Feels sturdy too - not cheap plastic, proper bit of gear.

Can't wrap my head around how good this is. Every hiker, camper, or prepper should have one. Absolute game-changer.

Perfect for travel to places with poor water quality

This is a really expensive bottle, so you want to know it's good before splashing out on it. It's kind of hard to test fully, as just saying 'I havn't got ill' after drinking some dubious water through it isn't terribly scientific. Still, it claims all sorts of standards conformity in terms of water quality, so I'll have to take their word for it. And...I havn't got sick trying it out, so there is that.

It's clever design. You fill the bottle up by unscrewing the base (not the top), and there is a well designed lid to prevent cross-contamination of the part you drink from while you do this. Then you pump it up using the pump built in to the base. This forces the contaminated water through all the various filters, and you can then drink from the top of the bottle like a traditional flask. It's really easy and quick to use, and means you can fill the bottle from a tap as well as streams or standing water.

It claims to be able to filter some 6000litres, depending on contamination, which must be close to the lifetime of the bottle. You can buy replacement filters and these are quite expensive at around £100 a pop. You also need to replace the charcoal filters every few hundred litres as well, but these are more reasonably priced.

It's a really easy and convenient filter, and ideal if you're travelling to parts of the world where the mains water isn't as good as it could be. It's easy to fill up from a tap and quick and fairly fool proof. It's a bit more chunky than a standard water bottle as you'd expect, but not excessively so, so it's convenient and easy to carry about with you during the day. It's also not too 'look at me' so you won't be embrarrased to use this in public.

This is not the cheapest thing in the world, but its really well made, very easy to use, discreet and (apparently) really effective. If you're off to places with less developed water quality then it give peace of mind and not ruin your trip.

Definitely top quality, but pricey

Without a doubt a top quality water purifier, very low weight and quite compact for a 750ml water bottle. No argument about that at all. My concerns come more from cost than anything else.
First, there's the big jump in price up from something like the LifeSaver Wayfarer which comes in at around £100. It purifies to almost exactly the same standard but simply hasn't apparently been put forward for the same testing and certification. It is a bit heavier but not significantly.
Replacement cartridges, should you ever need them as they do last for 6000 litres, are going to set you back about £90-100. But I'd be very surprised if anyone is going to drink enough from one of these to ever need that replacement. You will however need to keep replacing the activated charcoal cartridges which at the moment are about £30 for 4 and each lasts about 250l. You will get through those faster.
This bottle is excellent and I will put it to good use, but starting from scratch and buying something I'd probably look at a cheaper option unless I was going to spend months on end somewhere like west Africa or Borneo.

You get what you pay for

When your life really does depend on the kit you have then you can't afford to risk buying cheap. As soon as you set eyes on it you can see it’s a serious bit of kit. One that really does require you to read the instructions before use and prime the filtration system ready for use. Make sure you read the instructions and get used to using it before you need to
In anger. It's also one of those items you really should buy a second filter cartridge just in case as if your using this you can't just nip to the shops for a replacement. It is though a bit of kit
You can bet your life on
